PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would get sporadic rain and strong gusts on Wednesday night and Thursday. At lower tropospheric levels, weak monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are entering the upper and central regions of Pakistan, while a westerly wave is dominating the higher regions.
Under these weather conditions, scattered rains and gusty winds are expected in Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Kurram, Kohat, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Waziristan, and Dera Ismail Khan on Wednesday night.
In most parts of the province, Thursday is predicted to be primarily hot and muggy. On the other hand, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Malakand, and Kurram are likely to get rain and strong winds.
The high temperature in Peshawar is expected to stay in the range of 38 to 40°C on Thursday and Friday.
Most of the province’s districts have experienced hot, muggy weather over the past 24 hours. Nonetheless, there were isolated instances of rain, wind, and thundershowers in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; Drosh recorded a total of 1.0 mm of rain.
With a maximum temperature of 42°C, Bannu was the hottest location in the province. It was 77 percent relative humidity in the evening. The highest temperature recorded in Peshawar was 40°C, while the evening relative humidity was 81%.
