Youm-e-Ashur, the tenth day of the Islamic month of Muharram, is being solemnly observed today (Wednesday) across Pakistan.
The day commemorates the supreme sacrifice made by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his devoted companions at the Battle of Karbala.
In cities and towns nationwide, mourning processions are being held, and special majlis (gatherings) are organized to highlight the teachings and significance of the Karbala tragedy.
To ensure safety and prevent any untoward incidents during the processions, elaborate security arrangements have been put in place. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed IG Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi and Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa to ensure robust security measures.
The minister conducted an aerial inspection of the main procession route in Islamabad and emphasized the importance of strict adherence to the special Muharram security plan across all four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Kashmir.
