Former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Miftah Ismail has announced the formation of a new political party named Awaam Pakistan (AP). The party is scheduled to officially debut next month, with its first convener being former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
Several notable former PML-N leaders will be joining Awaam Pakistan. These include Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan Abbasi, Javed Abbasi, Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Rana Zahid Tauseef, Zahid Binnouri, and Sardar Anwar Soomro. Additionally, the party will have the support of former health minister Dr. Zafar Mirza and ex-MQM Member of National Assembly (MNA) Sheikh Salahuddin.
The official launch event for Awaam Pakistan is set for July 6 in Islamabad. The formation of this new party follows a series of disagreements between Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and the current PML-N leadership, ultimately leading to the decision to establish a new political platform.
