The Punjab government has approved an increase of Rs2 billion in discretionary funds for Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. According to sources, the finance department has allocated these funds in the new fiscal year budget.
Government sources revealed that a total of Rs5 billion has been budgeted for the Punjab CM’s discretionary use. This move comes after the discretionary funds of the president, prime minister, and MNAs were criticized as an insult to taxpayers.
During the PTI government, the discretionary powers of all ministers to grant funds had been revoked.
