Global pop sensation Ariana Grande has set the social media ablaze with the release of her first solo single in three years, titled ‘Yes, And?’.
The 30-year-old artist took to Instagram to tease the release with a cryptic selfie and the caption ‘yes, and?’ alongside a heart emoji and the release date, Jan. 12, which is today!
The official audio of the eagerly anticipated single was dropped on Ariana Grande’s YouTube channel, marking her return to the music scene after her chart-topping sixth studio album ‘Positions’ in 2020. The single, recorded in New York City, was written and produced by Grande in collaboration with Max Martin and Ilya Salmanzadeh. Check it out!
‘Yes, And?’ exhibits Ariana Grande’s signature soaring vocals and a house-music-inspired beat, capturing the essence of her musical roots. The sassy lyrics include lines like “Say that s——— with your chest, keep moving like ‘What’s next?’ ‘Yes, and?’”
While fans are already grooving to the infectious tune, they will have to wait a bit longer for the music video. A teaser posted by Grande on Instagram features a red card reading “ag7” with coordinates underneath, stating “your presence has been exclusively requested.” The video will be available to stream from Friday, 7 AM PST.
In the interim between solo releases, Ariana Grande has stayed busy with collaborations, appearing on tracks with Kid Cudi, The Weeknd, Jimmy Fallon, Megan Thee Stallion, and Kelly Clarkson. Additionally, she marked the 10th anniversary of her debut album, Yours Truly, with a reissue featuring new live recordings.
Despite her focus on music, Ariana Grande has delved into other ventures, including her REM Beauty brand and her role in the upcoming movie adaptation of ‘Wicked’. The artist also experienced personal changes, parting ways with her husband, Dalton Gomez, earlier this year.
