In a weather revelation by PakWeather, the upcoming 24 hours are expected to lead in cold and dry conditions across most regions of Pakistan.
Punjab and Sindh, encompassing major cities like Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Lahore, are scheduled for cloudy weather accompanied by fog. The forecast also hints at the potential for rain and snowfall in the western, southern, and northern expanses of Balochistan.
Up north, scattered clouds are anticipated, bringing with them the possibility of light rain and snowfall in Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir.
Looking beyond the immediate forecast, PakWeather predicts the entry of two new western wind systems into the country.
The initial system, set to grace the western, upper, and southern regions of Balochistan from January 3 to 9, may even sprinkle snow over the mountainous areas of northeastern Balochistan.
During this period, some parts of Sindh, including Karachi, might experience light rain or drizzle.
The subsequent weather system, scheduled for January 9 to 15, is expected to bring rain and snowfall to the northern areas of the country, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir. While a low probability of heavy rain looms over most parts of Punjab, there’s also a chance of rain in various sections of northern, northwestern, northeastern, and central Punjab.
Meanwhile, the dense fog covering Islamabad and Rawalpindi has wreaked havoc on flight schedules at the Islamabad International Airport. Confirming the disruptions, a spokesperson for Pakistan International Airlines cited delays in both domestic and international flights due to the prevailing foggy conditions.
As Pakistan grapples with these weather dynamics, staying abreast of the forecast and observing alert in affected regions is paramount.
Whether it’s preparing for colder temperatures or anticipating potential flight delays, being weather-wise is the key to navigating the diverse conditions in the coming days.
