Lahore is alive with excitement as the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) prepares to host a historic rally at the iconic Minar-e-Pakistan.  The return of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expected to be a momentous event in Pakistani politics. Sharif, who has been living in London since his ousting in 2017 on corruption charges, is set to make a political comeback, undertaking to clear his name of all claims.

The PML-N, led by Nawaz Sharif’s brother Shehbaz Sharif, is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the rally’s success. They have mobilized supporters from across the country, arranging transportation by trains and buses to bring people to Lahore.

The event’s preparations are nothing short of magnificence. A massive stage, 80 feet wide and 40 feet high, graces Greater Iqbal Park. Notably, a secure, bulletproof cabin has been meticulously installed on the stage to accommodate Nawaz Sharif.

A huge 40,000 chairs beautify the auditorium, with plans to further increase seating capacity as the rally approaches. Party leaders, including Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, and Hamza Shahbaz, are scheduled to inspect the preparations and examine the venue and stage.

The rally, scheduled to commence at 4 pm, is expected to witness a gradual arrival of party leaders throughout the day. The highlight of the event will be Nawaz Sharif’s address at 9 pm.

Security arrangements for the rally have been trusted to the local administration, ensuring the safety of attendees. With enthusiastic PML-N supporters converging on the location, the event at Minar-e-Pakistan is poised to be a historic moment in Pakistan’s political landscape.

While Sharif’s return remains a highly anticipated event, it has also generated its share of controversies and security concerns. The former Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar, refused to disclose the name of the airport where Sharif’s chartered plane would land, citing security reasons. However, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has granted permission for Sharif’s plane to land at Islamabad International Airport and Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.

As the rally date approaches, the entire nation awaits the unfolding of this significant event, with all eyes on Minar-e-Pakistan, where Nawaz Sharif is expected to address his supporters and set the stage for his political comeback.
