The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a warning for heavy rainfall expected to hit the province in the coming days, particularly on Muharram 8 and 9 (July 15 and 16).

In light of the forecast, PDMA has urged mourning procession organizers to take precautionary measures. A PDMA spokesperson advised organizers to remain vigilant and implement all necessary safety protocols.

Residents are also cautioned to avoid electric poles and wires, refrain from holding gatherings on unsafe rooftops, and stay away from river crossings, streams, and nullahs.

Additionally, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast light rain and drizzle in Karachi, following earlier predictions of rising temperatures before the new monsoon spell in Sindh from July 18 or 19.

Simultaneously, the Federal Flood Commission (FFC) has reported a low flood in the Kabul River at the Warsak-Nowshera section, while major rivers such as the Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej are flowing normally.
