Shaheen Afridi has reportedly displayed inappropriate behavior towards coaches during recent tours, leading the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to remove Senior Manager Wahab Riaz and Manager Mansoor Rana from their roles.
Despite Afridi’s misconduct, team managers did not enforce any disciplinary measures, prompting an ongoing investigation into internal team issues, including discipline lapses and player lobbying.
Coaches have also highlighted a non-serious attitude among certain players, further contributing to the team’s challenges.
This situation is part of a larger wave of discontent within the PCB, as Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq were recently removed from the selection committee following Pakistan’s underwhelming performance in the T20 World Cup 2024.
The PCB has recognized the need for reforms and announced plans to revise the selection committee’s structure soon.
This overhaul aims to address disciplinary issues and enhance team performance, ensuring a more dedicated and professional approach moving forward.
