Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has inaugurated the ‘Roshan Gharana’ initiative, which aims to provide solar panels to households consuming between 50 and 500 units of electricity.
Approved by the Punjab cabinet, the program will cover 90% of the cost of solar panels, with consumers contributing the remaining 10% through easy installments over a five-year period. The installment payments will be reduced during the winter months.
The initiative targets the most economically vulnerable households, addressing the dual challenges of rising electricity prices and the ongoing energy crisis.
Maryam Nawaz highlighted ongoing efforts to alleviate the financial burdens on the public, pledging significant improvements within the next five years.
