Petrol prices in Pakistan are anticipated to see a substantial increase in July 2024, coinciding with the start of the new fiscal year 2024-25.
According to reports, the federal government plans to raise petrol prices by Rs7.54 per liter and high-speed diesel prices by Rs9.84 per liter for the first 15 days of July.
If the government implements an additional Rs5 per liter petroleum levy starting July 1, petrol prices could increase by Rs12.54 per liter, and diesel prices could rise by Rs14.84 per liter.
It’s noteworthy that the government has decided to raise the maximum petroleum levy to Rs80 from the previous Rs60, planning to implement this increase in various phases.
