Rainy and Windy Conditions Forecasted for Islamabad and Rawalpindi

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist air currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are likely to influence the southern and central regions of Pakistan in the coming days.

This weather pattern is expected to bring thunderstorms and rain accompanied by gusty winds to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and various areas including Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region, northeast and south Punjab, southeast Sindh, east Balochistan starting Wednesday evening/night and continuing through Thursday and Friday.

In Islamabad, temperatures are anticipated to reach between 41-43°C on Thursday, cooling slightly to 39-41°C by Friday. Similarly, Rawalpindi is forecasted to experience temperatures in the range of 41-43°C on Thursday, lowering to 39-41°C on Friday.

Meanwhile, over the past 24 hours, hot and dry weather prevailed across most parts of the country, with sporadic rain and thunderstorms reported in Gupis (03 mm) and Mirkhani (02 mm).

The highest temperatures were recorded in Turbat and Jacobabad, soaring to 49°C. Dadu followed closely at 48°C, while Sibbi, Lasbella, and Khairpur recorded 47°C, and various other cities like Rohri, Padidan, Noorpur Thal, Mohenjo-Daro, Larkana, Chhor, and Bahawalpur registered temperatures around 46°C.

In Islamabad, the maximum temperature peaked at 42°C, with relative humidity measured at 52% during the evening. Rawalpindi also recorded a maximum temperature of 42°C, accompanied by 33% relative humidity during the evening hours.
