The Sindh government has announced three holidays for Eidul Adha 2024 across the province.
The Eid break will begin from June 17 to June 19 (Monday to Wednesday) for all departments operating under the provincial government.
Effectively, the Eid holidays will start from June 15, as most government departments observe weekends on Saturdays and Sundays.
Earlier, the federal government had also announced three holidays, to be observed from June 17 to 19.
The holiday announcement follows the sighting of the Zil Hajj moon on June 7, with Pakistan set to celebrate Eidul Adha on June 17. Eidul Adha, which occurs on the 10th day of Zil Hajj, coincides with the Hajj pilgrimage.
Ahead of Eid, cattle markets have been set up in various locations for people to purchase cows, goats, sheep, and camels for sacrifice.
