Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the first Chief Minister of Balochistan to address Oxford’s Lady Margaret Hall, highlighted that Benazir Bhutto, the only Muslim world leader with a portrait displayed in the hall, also studied there. The event, attended by 150 delegates including Malala Yousafzai, Senator Anwaarul Haq Kakar, Aamir Ibrahim, Mohammad Khishgi, Farooq Sheikh, and Prof. Kamal Munir, showcased the significance of this initiative.
Bugti remarked, “The underprivileged students of Balochistan will now have access to education at a prestigious institution where many great personalities, including the late Benazir Bhutto, once studied.” He stressed that this initiative would bridge local educational needs with global standards, addressing educational gaps and aligning local aspirations with international academic norms.
“This commitment signifies a transformative step towards educating and empowering the youth of Balochistan,” Bugti outlined. He emphasized the pivotal role of higher education in fostering democracy and social progress, indicating that this scholarship will nurture future leaders from Balochistan.
Bugti elaborated, “This initiative is not just about financial assistance but also about empowering young individuals from Balochistan.”
