Karachi continues to swelter under a persistent heat wave for the third consecutive day, with temperatures expected to soar to 42 degrees Celsius today, according to the Met Department.

The city is experiencing partly cloudy conditions, combined with high levels of heat and humidity.

The department reported that westerly winds are exacerbating the discomfort, with speeds reaching up to 24 kilometers per hour. Humidity levels are at 78%, contributing to the oppressive heat.

Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz warned that the heat wave is likely to persist in Karachi tomorrow. However, he offered a glimmer of hope by predicting a decrease in the heat wave’s intensity starting from June 2. Sarfraz stated that the city is expected to remain partially cloudy from then on, with temperatures ranging between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius.

The forecasted relief comes as a welcome respite for residents who have been enduring scorching temperatures in recent days. Karachiites are advised to take necessary precautions to stay safe and hydrated amidst the ongoing heat wave.
