Turkish President Erdogan Expected to Visit Pakistan Soon

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is anticipated to visit Pakistan in the coming weeks to strengthen bilateral relations across various sectors.

Officials from the commerce ministry confirmed the development to a local publication, noting that discussions have begun to finalize the agenda for Erdogan’s visit.

In parallel, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema met with Turkish Ambassador Mehmet Paçaci, where they agreed to enhance their economic partnership.

Cheema praised the 2022 Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between Pakistan and Turkey as a significant milestone and informed the Ambassador about the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in Pakistan, aimed at attracting investments from friendly nations.

The meeting also covered Turkey’s investment potential in Pakistan’s corporate farming, including agricultural machinery and equipment.

Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in bilateral trade and investment through Government-to-Government (G2G) and Business-to-Business (B2B) arrangements.

The Ambassador expressed a desire to expand trade between the two countries through the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC) and the Strategic Economic Framework (SEF), focusing on cooperation in energy, banking, trade, and railway sectors.
