Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has quickly approved the release of Rs. 23 billion for Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) in response to the current situation in the region.
The decision was made during a special meeting held on Monday specifically to address the ongoing challenges in Azad Kashmir. A thorough review of the region’s current state of affairs was conducted, leading to strategic measures aimed at alleviating the difficulties faced by the Kashmiri people.
In acknowledgment of this immediate financial support, the leadership of Azad Kashmir and other participants in the meeting expressed gratitude to PM Shehbaz for his swift action.
This development follows recent protests by residents of Azad Kashmir regarding administrative errors and issues that have impacted the local population in recent months. The protests have led to intense clashes between police and protesters in various areas of the region.
