Pakistani author, poet, and journalist, Fatima Bhutto has criticized the shameless Bollywood industry and the hateful Modi-led BJP government for celebrating the destruction of the historic Babri Majid in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

In a tasteless display of Islamophobia and Muslim hatred, Bollywood celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and others, attended the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple.

The event drew strong criticism from various quarters, including Fatima Bhutto, a prominent voice who took to social media to express her disapproval. On Twitter, she labeled Bollywood as a “craven industry” and condemned the stars for celebrating the destruction of the Babri Masjid, expressing her disdain for their endorsement of what she deemed “hateful politics” associated with the BJP.

“Bollywood is a craven industry. To see its stars dolled up to celebrate the destruction of the Babri Masjid and clicking selfies to cheer the hateful politics of the BJP is sickening,” shared Fatima Bhutto on Twitter.

Despite widespread criticism from the Muslim minority population, prominent figures from the Indian film industry participated in the ceremony, drawing attention and sparking varied reactions.

Notably, film personalities such as Rohit Shetty, Rajkumar Hirani, Ayushmann Khurrana, Madhuri Dixit Nene, producer Mahaveer Jain, and several others joined the celebration. Hema Malini, Rajinikanth, Pawan Kalyan, Shankar Mahadevan, Madhur Bhandarkar, Subhash Ghai, Shefali Shah, Vipul Shah, Randeep Hooda, Lin Laishram, Aadinath Mangeshkar, Anu Malik, and Sonu Nigam were also in attendance.

Chiranjeevi’s presence, accompanied by his wife Surekha and son Ram Charan, became a notable moment, capturing attention as the RRR star participated in the event. Even those unable to attend physically, such as Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, conveyed their wishes through video messages.
