Stranger Things actor, Noah Schnapp has come forward to “clarify” his views on the ongoing siege of Gaza, also addressing his insensitive ‘Zionism is Sexy’ viral video from last year.
As Netflix’s Stranger Things season 5 gears up for production, actor Noah Schnapp has addressed the controversy surrounding his views on Gaza that stirred public scrutiny last year.
In a TikTok video, Schnapp asserted that his stance had been misconstrued, clarifying that he seeks peace, safety, and security for all affected by the conflict.
Last year, amidst the Gaza bombardment, Schnapp faced criticism for promoting ‘Zionism is Sexy’ stickers in a viral video. Netizens worldwide urged boycotts against the actor and the hit series Stranger Things.
In his recent TikTok statement, Schnapp emphasized learning from conversations with friends of Palestinian background. Expressing a desire for the end of violence, he highlighted common goals between both sides and advocated for understanding and compassion.

However, reactions to the TikTok post varied due to Noah Schnapp’s vague remarks, with some still calling for a boycott and questioning the timing of Schnapp’s statement. In response, the actor disabled comments on the video.
Last October, after Hamas’ attack on Israel, Schnapp labeled Hamas as not representative of Palestinians and declared support for Israel. Since then, he has remained a polarizing figure, facing backlash from the Stranger Things fanbase who demand not only a boycott due of the actor for his remarks, but also cancel Stranger Things as well.
The controversy continues to surround Noah Schnapp as he navigates public perception amid the filming of the much-anticipated Stranger Things 5.
