The king of rock ‘n’ roll, Elvis Presley, is set to make a triumphant return to the stage, not in flesh and blood, but as a holographic AI version.
The immersive experience, titled Elvis Evolution, will captivate London audiences starting November, promising a jaw-dropping concert finale and a personal invite to an after party.
Presented by Layered Reality, the U.K.-based company known for its immersive productions such as Jeff Wayne’s The War of The Worlds: The Immersive Experience and The Gunpowder Plot, Elvis Evolution is described as a major new show celebrating the legendary Elvis Presley. The experience will blend cutting-edge AI technology with groundbreaking visual effects, augmented reality, and multi-sensory elements to recreate the seismic impact of seeing Elvis live.
A life-sized digital Elvis will take center stage, sharing iconic songs and moves for the first time on a U.K. stage. Audiences will have the opportunity to witness memorable Elvis performances through AI, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy.
The show, set in a central London venue yet to be confirmed, will be followed by an after party at an Elvis-themed restaurant and bar, featuring live music, DJs, and performances.
Elvis Evolution is not limited to London, as it is slated to travel to Las Vegas, Berlin, and Tokyo. The groundbreaking show became possible through a partnership between Layered Reality and Authentic Brands Group, the owner of Elvis Presley Enterprises.
Andrew McGuinness, founder and CEO of Layered Reality, expressed enthusiasm, stating,
Elvis Evolution is a next-generation tribute to the musical legend that is Elvis Presley. It’ll be a memory-making experience that will be a bucket list item for Elvis fans and admirers around the world.
Marc Rosen, president of entertainment at Authentic Brands Group, added, “We’re thrilled to partner with Layered Reality to give fans a new, immersive way of experiencing Elvis Presley’s life and legacy.”
With over 500 million records sold worldwide, Elvis Presley remains one of the highest-selling music artists of all time. The Elvis Evolution show comes at a time of heightened interest in Presley’s legacy, following recent cinematic releases like Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis and the critically acclaimed ABBA Voyage concert experience featuring digital avatars of the iconic Swedish band.
