In the first four months of the fiscal year 2023-24, Pakistan’s Information Technology (IT) sector showcased robust performance, raking in a substantial $892.972 million from its diverse IT service offerings to international markets.
This marks a remarkable 4.45% uptick compared to the corresponding period in the previous fiscal year.
Delving into the specifics of IT services, the export of computer services demonstrated an admirable growth rate of 4.81%, surging from $688.078 million to an impressive $721.162 million. A standout highlight in this period was the remarkable rise of 93.76% in the export of software consultancy services, rising to $1.955 million.
Despite these positive trends, there was a marginal setback in the export of information services, experiencing a decline of 25.18% from $1.390 million to $1.040 million. On a brighter note, the export of telecommunication services managed to offset this decrease, registering a 4.45% increase and reaching $170.770 million.
