The dynamic films, playfully dubbed “Barbenheimer” due to their simultaneous releases, have emerged as frontrunners with multiple nods in various categories.
Barbie, a vivid feminist satire exploring the iconic plastic doll’s impact on culture, received an impressive nine nominations. The film is recognized in categories such as Best Comedy, with stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling earning acting nominations.
With its global earnings surpassing $1.4 billion, Barbie also secured three Best Song nominations, highlighting the film’s musical achievements. Greta Gerwig, the writer-director behind the satirical masterpiece, was acknowledged for her contribution to the film.
