The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) marked its foundation day in Quetta with a powerful message of hope and commitment to national progress. Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, addressing the gathering, declared that former foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and the party’s leadership would guide the nation towards prosperity.
“We will have to make Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the leader of the youth and future. We have to inculcate all the things to Bilawal Bhutto, whatever we know,” stated Zardari during the celebration.
Highlighting Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari’s individual identity, Zardari emphasized the pivotal role of leadership in uplifting the country.
He expressed a firm resolve to “redefine” Pakistan, stating that the nation would become a great one with the PPP’s formula for progress and service to the people.
Specifically addressing the challenges faced by Balochistan, Zardari asserted to steer the province out of crisis, emphasizing that everything within Balochistan belongs to its people.
“میرا بلوچستان کے عوام سے وعدہ ہے کہ اگر آپ کے ووٹ کی طاقت سے وزیراعلی جیالا بنا تو ہم دل کا مفت علاج فراہم کرنے کیلئے قومی اداراہ برائے امراض قلب کی طرز کا سب سے بڑا اسپتال کوئٹہ میں بنائیں گے جس کے بعد اسے تمام اضلاع میں پھیلایا جائے گا۔”

In a separate address, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari blamed the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for rising inflation. Reflecting on the party’s origins, he praised the visionary political approach initiated by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, stating that Bhutto had transformed the political landscape by focusing on the people.
Bilawal recounted the era of Benazir Bhutto, highlighting her confrontation with a dictatorial regime and her efforts to bury acrimony, introducing a fresh political paradigm.
He also praised Asif Zardari’s leadership, noting groundbreaking achievements and initiatives such as the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) that contributed to the economic upliftment of the country.
Bilawal declared himself as the “voice of the youth” and emphasized the PPP’s commitment to representing the people. In contrast to political entities representing the elite, he stated that the PPP remains the voice of the people.
The foundation day celebration showcased the party’s rich legacy and its leaders’ commitment to steering Pakistan towards a future marked by prosperity, unity, and the well-being of its citizens.
