The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has taken a decisive step by imposing a ban on the issuance of Dubai visit visas to nationals from 20 countries due to concerns over overstaying and illegal work activities.
The ban, effective immediately, primarily targets nationals from various African nations.
As reported by a German media outlet, the countries impacted by this visa ban include Ghana, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Cameroon, Nigeria, Liberia, Burundi, Republic of Guinea, Gambia, Togo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Benin, Ivory Coast, Congo, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, and Comoros.
This development comes on the heels of a recent decision by the UAE to revamp its visa regulations, which included the requirement that no visit visas would be issued to citizens of Nigeria below the age of 40.
These measures aim to address concerns related to overstay and illegal employment activities.
It’s important to note that Pakistani nationals continue to enjoy the freedom of obtaining visit visas for travel to the UAE, ensuring that they can explore the opportunities and experiences offered by the Gulf state without obstacles.
