The legendary Snoop Dogg received an unforgettable birthday surprise from none other than the ‘Step Brothers’ Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly at the Best Night of Your Life 2 benefit show on Saturday.
John C. Reilly put a pause on Snoop Dogg’s live performance at the Los Angeles’ sold-out Greek Theatre to remind everyone that the “Drop It Like Its Hot” singer turned 52 over the weekend.
Reilly announced,
Yesterday was a very special day. It was Mr. Snoop Dogg’s birthday. We’re about to sing Happy Birthday to the greatest rapper in the world!
A video, shared on Snoop’s Instagram, offered a backstage glimpse of Will Ferrell rolling out a colossal three-tier birthday cake for the rap icon, who, true to his style, pulled out a joint to light with his birthday candles.
The crowd erupted in applause as the birthday boy sparked up, to which Reilly cheerfully remarked, “That’s what I’m talking about.”
Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly then lead the audience in a heartwarming rendition of “Happy Birthday” for Snoop, who, with a deep breath, blew out the candles, making a wish as he did?
In an Instagram post, Snoop expressed his gratitude and joy, captioning it, “My brothers surprised me 🎂🐾🔥😂, Will and John.”
Before the birthday festivities, Reilly and Ferrell delighted the audience with a performance of “Boats ‘N Hoes,” a song originally sung by their Step Brothers characters, Brennan and Dale. To add to the surprise, Snoop Dogg joined them onstage for a verse, igniting the crowd with excitement. The celebration reached its peak as the trio transitioned into a rendition of Snoop’s 1994 classic hit, “Gin and Juice.”
