The renowned Grévin Museum in Paris excitedly unveiled a wax replica of Hollywood star and WWE champion, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
The sculpture showcased an uncanny resemblance to the charismatic star, but it soon became apparent that there was one glaring issue – the waxwork’s skin tone was, well, a few shades lighter than expected.
Hilarious reactions and memes flooded Twitter, with some suggesting that the sculptor has turned “The Rock” into “The Pebble.” Others couldn’t resist cracking jokes about how Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson appeared even fairer than the suave British football icon, David Beckham. Some even went as far as proposing that he’d fit right into the Royal Family.
Dwayne Johnson enjoyed fans’ hilarious reaction to the wax statue as he shared a clip of his friend James Jefferson Jr. roasting the statue on Instagram.
The Rock addressed the issue in the caption, stating:
“For the record, I’m going to have my team reach out to our friends at Grévin Museum, in Paris, France 🇫🇷, so we can work on ‘updating’ my wax figure here with some important details and improvements—starting with my skin color 🤣✊🏾💪🏾. And next time I’m in Paris, I’ll stop in and have a drink with myself 🥃 😉.”
